The Brooklyn Animal Foster Network is being sued by Caley Rose Bulinsky
who was bitten by her adopted dog.
Bulinsky claims that the foster dog bit her face causing lacerations on
and around her mouth and stitched in three places. She said the dog nipped
her "without cause or justification".
Bulinsky also goes on to claim that she was misinformed about the dog's
breed when she adopted it nearly two years ago. She said she was lead
to believe that the dog was a Shih Tzu but the dog is in fact a mixed breed.
The director of the organization, Laurie Bleier, explained that she "doesn't
know what she did to get the dog to bite her in the mouth". Bleier
also added that they quickly took the dog back and that the dog obviously
looks like a poodle, not a Shih Tzu.
The organization recently stopped taking in dogs for lack of funding. The
dog was readopted without incident.
