On New Year's Day in Greenville, NY, the passenger of a pickup truck
died after the vehicle crashed into a tree.
According to state police, Juan Avalos-Zamora, 49, of Poughkeepsie was
driving a 2001 GMC pickup truck eastbound on Route 6, when it crossed
the road and hit a tree around 2:21 a.m. Rafael Gonzales, 21, of Highland
was a passenger in the vehicle, he was not wearing his seat belt and died
Avalos-Zamora was taken by helicopter to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson,
NJ to be treated for non-lfe threatening injuries.
The caused of the accident is still under investigation.
