On Tuesday evening in Poughkeepsie, two pedestrians were hit by an SUV
while attempting to cross the street.
According to Sgt. Joseph Herring, the accident occurred at the intersection
of Main Street and Columbus Drive and both victims were taken to MidHudson
Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
There was an investigation conducted by police that included an accident
reconstruction with photographs and measurements at the scene.
The driver, male, was not issued traffic tickets or charged by the police.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The identities of the people involved in the accident have not been released
as of Tuesday evening.
