Early Thursday morning in Nedrow, NY, 27 people were injured in an accident
that involved a wrecked car, a tractor trailer and a Pine Hill Trailways bus.
The Hurley, NY company owned bus had 52 passengers on it at the time and
was heading to New York City from Toronto.
According to the Onondaga County Sheriff, the bus was traveling south on
I-81 when it crashed into a wrecked car that had just came to rest from
crashing into a guard rail in the left lane. The bus then slammed into
the rear of a tractor trailer that had pulled over to help the wrecked
Two emergency crews were needed to transport the 26 passengers that were
injured in the crash. It took two hours to extricated the bus driver from
the smashed in front end of the bus. He was taken to Upstate University
Hospital in Syracuse where he was listed in serious but stable condition.
The driver of the car was charged with driving while intoxicated.
