On Friday morning in St. Remy, a woman suffered several injuries after
she was hit by a car while walking her dog.
According to the Ulster County Sheriff's office, Michelle Sleight,
48, of Ulster Park, was walking her dog on Route 213 near Van Wagnen Lane
with her back to oncoming traffic when she was struck by a 2006 Hyundai
driven by Perry Zoda, 27, of Port Ewen at about 9:20 a.m.
The impact caused Sleight to be knocked to the ground and down an embankment,
injuring her elbow, leg, back and face. She was taken to the MidHudson
Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for treatment.
There is an ongoing investigation and charges have yet to be filed.
