Saturday morning in North Elba, N.Y., a single-engine plane crash in the
Adirondacks claimed the life of three people,
According to state police, Fred Kafka, 63, of Vienna, West Virginia was
flying a Mooney M20 with his daughter, Kathleen Kafka, 24, of Rock Springs,
Wyoming and Reed Phillips, 25, of Midland, Michigan.
Apparently, Kafka was attempting to land and was thwarted by a plane coming
in another direction. While making a second attempt, the plane stalled
and crashed into a nearby field.
There is an ongoing investigation as to the cause of the crash.
