On Monday afternoon in Accord, a motorcyclist suffered head and shoulder
injuries after being rear-ended by a bus that was transporting the Pine
Bush High School varsity and junior varsity field hockey team.
According to state police, the bus was headed to Rondout Valley High School
for the field hockey games. The First Student Inc. bus, driven by Leonard
F. Kreieger, 67, of Pine Bush, was traveling northbound on U.S. Route
209 when it struck the motorcycle just before Whitfield Road at about
3:15 p.m. The 2014 Honda street bike was being operated by Paul O.Burge,
53, of Stone Ridge.
Barge was taken to HealthAlliance Hospital's Broadway Campus in Kingston
to be treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.
Of the 34 female students and three other people on the bus, 16 suffered
minor injuries and were taken to Ellenville Regional Hospital for evaluation
