Early Sunday morning in Accord, a man injured himself and his passenger
when he crashed the SUV they were in into a sign and a tree on Queens Highway.
According to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred
at about 2:00 a.m. when a 2004 Dodge Durango driven by Raymond J. Williams,
29. of Warwarsing lost control going eastbound on Queens Highway.
Both Williams and the passenger, unidentified, were taken to HeathAlliance
Hospital's Broadway Campus in Kingston to be treated for their injuries.
Williams was charged with felonies, driving while intoxicated, reckless
endangerment and aggravated unlawful operation of a motor vehicle. He
was also charged with misdemenor assualt and circumventing an interlock device.
Deputies said that additional charges may be filed.
