In Wright, N.Y. a man from Schoharie County was charged with vehicular
manslaughter and driving while intoxicated on Wednesday for a fatal motorcycle
crash that occurred on October 1.
According to State Police, the crash occurred on Route 443 in Gallupville
when a motorcycle, driven by Kristofer J. Govel, 28, of the town of Wright,
veered off the road, struck a basketball hoop stand and finally came to
rest after crashing onto a church.
Govel's passenger, Colleen M. Rogers, 24, also of Wright, was thrown
from the motorcycle and died.
