A three-vehicle crash, involving a marked Kingston police car, left no
serious injuries said Detective Lt. Thierry Croizer.
According to Croizer, the accident occurred Monday at about 2:13 p.m. when
a 2014 Hyundai driven by Peter Nastasi, 57, of Rock Hill made an illegal
left turn from the Kingston High School driveway onto Broadway and smashed
into a police car that had it's roof lights and siren on. The impact
of the crash pushed the patrol car into a 2014 Volkswagen driven by John
Lyons, 49, of Saugerties.
The police car was driven by Officer Vincent DePalma, 39, who was responding
to a "fight call" in Downtown Kingston.
DePalma was the only person injured in the crash. His injuries were considered
minor and he did not go to the hospital.
Nastasi received violation tickets for failing to yield to an emergency
vehicle and making an illegal left turn.
